Harmony Ikigai ~ Oculus App

Introduction

The Harmony Ikigai Oculus app provides for the exploration of transcendentalism in the metaverse for experiencing and strengthening intergroup culture, positive states of mind, and informal learning communities. Virtual Harmony developers of the app highlight the use of transcendentalism principles in the design and use of shareable immersive 3D Oculus Quest activities supporting mindfulness, inspiring creativity, and strengthening common bonds of unity.

The interplay of transcendental forms of co-created shared VR experiences make possible unique and shareable VR spaces and activities inspiring abundance and transformational intergroup cultural experiences. Transcendentalism is associated with 19th century American literary, political, and philosophical movement led by Ralph Waldo Emerson and influenced by other important transcendentalists such as Henry David Thoreau, Margaret Fuller, and Theodore Parker.

The Harmony Ikigai Oculus app addresses transcendentalism by offering five ikigai activities to promote:

  • discovering what sparks the soul and leading a life with purpose in small steps
  • accepting oneself
  • connecting with others and nature in harmonious ways
  • finding joy in the little things of life
  • being present in each moment and place

Contemplative design properties are applied to stimulate in creative ways feelings of transcendence and reflections on ikigai by what is seen, heard, and felt while observing, moving around, and interacting with others in the Oculus app.
