Abstract |
Conflict has been a reoccurring event throughout recorded history. The underlying political goals, the catalysts needed for conflict, typically fall into six broad categories security, religion, ideological differences, self-determination, strategic objectives, and territoryresources. As technology has evolved, the tactics, techniques, and procedures TTPs for conducting conflict have adapted accordingly. Although the TTPs have adapted, the resulting destruction and ruin of infrastructure has remained consistent throughout the ages. US peer and near-peer competitors are fielding multilayered systems to simultaneously fight across multiple domains space, cyber, air, sea, and land. To maintain friendly operations, the United States faces the challenge of defeating these multilayered systems designed to operate across multiple domains. Emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning have the potential to defeat these multilayered systems and fundamentally change how conflict is conducted.
