Abstract
Military applications and Command and Control (C2) systems can benefit from integration with Internet of Things (IoT), as the prevalence and ubiquity of IoT can significantly improve situational awareness. In this paper, we introduce several scenarios in which IoT may benefit military applications and existing C2 systems. We associate these scenarios with commercial software and hardware enablers. Lastly, we provide the high-level architecture of a system that we have used during 2021 Coalition Warrior Interoperability Exercise (CWIX) to demonstrate the benefits of integration of IoT with C2.
