Abstract |
The article discusses the pros and cons of autonomous weapons systems and military robots that has caused a debate among military planners, roboticists, and ethicists about the development and deployment of weapons with little or no human oversight. Topics include tactical advantages of autonomous weaponry in the battlefield, role of U.S. department of defense, and opposition of autonomous weapons on moral grounds.
